In the latest ICC ranking update, Indian skipper Virat Kohli has slipped down to 10 after a poor show with bat in the T20 series. He could only manage to score 105 runs in the 4 innings of the series and although it wasn’t an outright failure since he did manage two good scores, his performance wasn’t quite impressive.
On the other hand, England captain Eoin Morgan has moved into the top 10 batsmen after amassing couple of half centuries in the 3 match series against South Africa. The English left hander scored 136 runs in the series at an average of 68 and strike rate of 170. His 50 in the last T20I helped England push over South Africa in a tight affair.
KL Rahul remains India’s top ranked batsman who is placed just below Babar Azam at 2 with 823 points. Babar has owned the number 1 position comfortably with 879 rating points. Amongst the Indian batsmen, Rohit Sharma is ranked 11 while Dhawan is at 24.
None of the Indian bowlers is in the top 10 rankings. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, who has been quite a performer in this format has retained his number 1 position, only just to his own teammate Mujeeb Ur Rahman who is only 7 points behind him. Jasprit Bumrah at 12 is India’s top ranked bowler while Yuzvendra Chahal is placed at 30th position.
