Twitter reacts as India knocks out South Africa of ICC Champions Trophy

It’s difficult to get away from the chokers’ tag; Time and again South Africa have proved what they are capable of extracting nothing much in the ICC tournaments. Why is it that they play the fearless brand of cricket barring the major competitions. Maybe an exclusive interview needs to be set up to access the Proteas including the coach what the actual problem is.

The cricketing fraternity knows how gutted the South African players must be feeling right now. Maybe they get used to these things better than any team else. Their sheer tenacity to weave the magic on the blade of the grass has been completely short of producing the eye-catching glimmers.

South African batting ploy fell prey to Indian bowlers as they felt a bit tough to play through the lines at The Oval. Though, the Indian bowlers didn’t extract the venom of swing on the pitch they were able to bowl really well that kept the Proteas in their pockets that helped the Indians to restrict Proteas to 191.

In reply, India once again mastered the run-chase like a hot knife through butter as the total wasn’t that competitive. Rohit might have failed at the top but Shikhar Dhawan once again completed the sheer dominance with the bat and is by far the complete player in the ICC Champions Trophy.

Dhawan was the pick of the pick of the batsmen with 78 runs whereas Virat Kohli remained not out on 76*. On the other side, Yuvraj Singh finished things off in style with a magnificent six that confirmed India’s qualification to the semi-finals of the tournament as they beat South Africa by 8 wickets. The defending champions will take on Bangladesh at the Edgbaston on June 15.

Player of the match: Jasprit Bumrah (2/28)
