There is no denying that Indian Premier League is the richest league in cricket all over the world which is why every player dreams of participating in this tournament. Nowadays, parents even go on to tell their kids to learn skills which can prepare them for an IPL contract. And there is also not even an iota of doubt that the Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the most celebrated cricket franchise in the entire world not just IPL.
The team is yet to win an IPL trophy still it enjoys a loyal fanbase and a big brand which is why players also love to play for this side. In this article, we reveal how much money each RCB cricketer gets paid for his services.
Virat Kohli : 17 Crore
There is no doubt that Virat Kohli is the number 1 batsman in the world in all three formats and he is among one of the very best when it comes to only IPL. The captain of RCB and the leading run scorer in IPL is the most expensive player of the competition. He is a big brand for RCB and enjoys a huge fan following which is the reason why they don’t mind paying him a massive sum of 17 Crore Indian rupees which equals to 2.4 Million US Dollars. Kohli was the first player to be retained by the franchise when they had to name their three retentions prior to the 11th season Auction.
Kohli has been an integral part of the franchise since the tournament has begun. He has scored 5412 runs which is all time highest in the competition. As captain, he is yet to lead his team to the glory of winning IPL trophy for even a single time.
AB De villiers : 11 Crore
AB De villiers can be called deputy of Virat Kohli in RCB camp. He is probably on par with Kohli when it comes to being the most effective 3 format batsman and has a greater record than his good friend when it comes to IPL. AB Devilliers has got almost 4400 runs in IPL at an average of 40 and strike rate of 151. In fact, in the previous 3 seasons, he has easily been the best RCB player.
Mr 360 gets 11 Crore Rupees for his contribution to the franchise. It equates to 1.54 Million US Dollars. Much like Kohli, AB too enjoys a huge fan following in India.
Chris Morris : 10 Crore
South African fast bowling all-rounder Chris Morris was one of the most expensive buys in the 2020 IPL Auction which took place in December last year. He was bought at a whopping price of 10 Crore (1.4 Million US Dollars) to play his first season for RCB.
Morris has been a highly skillful Death overs bowler for South Africa and his batting bent makes him a vital player for any side.
Yuzvendra Chahal : 6 Crore
A side which has been lacking bowling resources seasons after seasons, Right arm leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been the only consistent to the side’s bowling group. Except for one match which he played for Mumbai Indians back in 2013, Chahal has been the best RCB bowler in last 6 years of IPL. His records speak for themselves. He has taken 100 wickets at an average of 21 and economy of 7.82 at a time when he plays most of his matches at Chinnaswamy Stadium which is not the ideal place for bowling.
Chahal gets paid a sum of 6 crore rupees, i.e, 0.84 Million US Dollars. He was the third player to be retained by the team before the mega auction.
Shivam Dube : 5 Crore
The Mumbai born pace bowling All-rounder Shivam Dube is the 5th highest paid cricketer in RCB camp. He earns a sum of 5 crore rupees (0.7 million Dollars) for his services. Dube was bought in the IPL 2019 Auction but didn’t have a great first IPL season where he played only 4 matches. Against all the odds, RCB decided to retain him for another season.
Aaron Finch : 4.4 Crore
The dynamic Aussie batsman was bought alongside Chris Morris in the IPL 2020 Auction to consolidate their batting order. Finch, who has been a part of 7 IPL teams will now play for his 8th franchise who will pay him a sum of 4.4 crore rupees (0.61 Million Dollars).
Umesh Yadav : 4.2 Crore
The Vidarbha Express might be one of the weakest links in RCB team but he still receives a hefty sum of 4.2 crore rupees (0.59 Million Dollars). He played 11 games for RCB in the last season where he could only manage to pick 8 wickets that too at an economy of 9.8. The Bangalore based side still decided to persist with him for the next season.
Kane Richardson : 4 Crore
The newest addition to RCB side, the Aussie fast bowler Kane Richardson was bought at 4 Crore Indian rupees in the auction last month. Richardson has played for 3 different franchises including RCB but he has never been able to make any impact when it comes to IPL. Coming with such a high price tag, he will have a lot of weight on his shoulders in this season.
Washington Sundar : 3.2 Crore
Washington Sundar was one of the finds of IPL in 2017 when he represented Rising Pune Supergiant and propelled them to the final of that particular season with his bowling up front. He was then bought by RCB in IPL 2018 Auction in 3.2 Crore Rupees ( 0.45 Million Dollars ) and then despite not being very effective, decided to retain him for the next two seasons.
Navdeep Saini : 3 Crore
RCB didn’t have a great IPL season in 2019 but their fast bowler Navdeep Saini was hailed as the find of the season. He was bought by RCB in 3 crore Rupees and was later retained by the same franchise.
Mohammad Siraj : 2.6 Crore
Right arm fast bowler Mohammad Siraj was retained by RCB despite having an awful season for the side in 2019. In 9 matches, he could only get 7 wickets. He also travelled at an economy of 9.55 which was only better than Umesh Yadav’s 9.80. Siraj gets 2.6 crore Indian Rupees for his job.
Dale Steyn : 2 Crore
The greatest fast bowler of modern era, Dale Steyn was picked as an injury replacement of Nathan Coulter-Nile in the 2019 season. He played only a couple of games for the side before getting injured. In the IPL 2020 Auction, he was picked in 2 crore Indian Rupees ( 0.28 Million Dollars) by the same franchise.
Moeen Ali : 1.7 Crore
English all-rounder was bought by the side in 2018 Auction and since then he has been a permanent member of the team. He gets a sum of 1.7 Crore Indian Rupees which is equal to 0.23 Million Dollars.
Parthiv Patel : 1.7 Crore
The only Indian wicket-keeper batsman in the side, Parthiv Patel gets the same amount of money as Moeen Ali does in the side. Parthiv has been their most reliable keeper in the last two seasons of IPL and they haven’t looked to replace him either.
Pawan Negi : 1 Crore
Having represented 3 teams in the past, Pawan Negi was bought by RCB in 1 crore after a horrendous season for Delhi Daredevils when he was paid 8 Crore Rupees. Negi quickly turned his fortunes while playing for RCB in 2017. This time the team had a horrible season and Negi was the only player who showed some promise. He has been retained by RCB in all the auctions since then.
Gurkeerat Mann Singh : 50 Lakhs ( 70 Thousand Dollars )
RCB bought the Punjab born all-rounder Gurkeerat Mann Singh in only 50 lakhs in IPL 2019. Gurkeerat was a part of KXIP side before the season but hadn’t enjoyed a great deal of success for that side. He along with Shimron Hetmyer powered RCB to only their fourth win in the final game of IPL 2019 when they took on SunRisers Hyderabad in their last league match.
