” Rohit Sharma was born to bat “, Fans emotions kept swinging around Virat Kohli’s 11th duck and Rohit’s magical 100 in Chennai

The second Test between India and England has seen some stunning action already inside just 3 hours of first day’s play. Indian fans were exuberant when Kohli finally won a toss against England hoping they would enjoy some great batting from India on first couple of days after the rubbing from England in the first Test.

The day didn’t start as well as they’d thought as Gill was dismissed on a duck. Couple of hours later, Indian captain Virat Kohli walked in amidst a great cheer from the crowd for the first time after the COVID-19 pandemic stuck the world. He played 4 dot balls in the first over and looked okay to begin with but found his stumps rattled when he attempted a cover drive against the turn against Moeen Ali. Ali got him for duck in the classic off spinner’s way which would have made even the greatest Muralitharan proud and it left the fans stunned, not just in ground but also on internet. Even Kohli himself couldn’t believe is dismissal.

On the other end, Rohit Sharma was playing a magical inning. On a pitch as slow as it can get, he was scoring at a strike rate of 100 or sometimes even more without the letting the pressure of 3 wickets in the first session get to him. It has probably been his best Test inning, at least that’s what fans thought and it was his inning that put India in a slight position of comfort till now on Day 1. He completed his 7th Test 100 in the second session making the pitch look easier when it isn’t.
