NSW vs TAS match preview
New South Wales and Tasmania will lock horns in the 8th match of the JLT Australia ODI Cup tournament. New South Wales have been dismal so far and have lost all their three matches and virtually out of the tournament. Tasmania on the other hand have racked up two consecutive victories and have the momentum with them going into this match.
The biggest concern for New South Wales is the failure of the top order batsmen to perform collectively and all though the likes of Daniel Hughes, Kurtis patterson and Moises Enriques have played good knocks but haven’t been able to perform in unison. Even in bowling section Sean Abbott and Daniel Sams have picked up wickets in bunch but in different matches and none of them have been able to do team work.
Tasmania on the other hand have been rampant so far and their openers in particular Ben McDermott and M Wade have given them flying start while their middle order which consists of Jordan Silk and Simon Milenko have given them the stability that the team needs. Only concern is the form of their captain George Bailey who has failed in both the matches so far and this could be the match when he turns around. In the bowling department Thomas Rogers, Clive rose and Relay Meredith have been amongst wickets and they are looking like a serious title contenders.
Pitch report: The match will be played at North Sydney Oval, Sydney. In the first match played in this venue produced a high scoring thriller and we can expect something similar.
