Manchester United ready to compete with Real Madrid to get Van De Beek

Manchester United are reportedly ready to compete with Real Madrid for Van De Beek’s signature from Ajax Amsterdam next summer.

The La Liga giants have reportedly reached an agreement with the player after failing to bring him in at the start of the season.

But according to Marca, United is still trying to convince the player to continue his football career at Old Trafford.

As is known Van de Beek almost joined the Santiago Bernabeu-based club this season. However, this failed to happen because Real failed to sell Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez. So, to recruit the Dutchman was delayed.

Other side, Man U decided to bring Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon in the January transfer window.

He also has recorded three goals and provided four assists in nine appearances. Arguably the Portuguese player managed to lift the club’s performance.

However, United still has players like Paul Pogba who are currently undergoing the healing process. But the future of the Frenchman is still uncertain at Old Trafford.

Pogba could leave club after being deemed unable to show his best performance like at Juventus. The result is, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for other players in the middle of the pitch.

A number of names such as Jack Grealish and James Maddison until now continue to be linked will join Manchester United next summer.

But club officials seem to be struggling to bring in Van De Beek because this player has experience playing in the Champions League.

Then on the other hand the selling price of the player is still affordable, so they keep trying to hook it.

But the 22-year-old in January in an interview with Fox Sports said he would be very happy to be associated with a big club. However, he seems to prefer a career with Ajax at this moment.

“I have said it before, and I will say it again: I will remain at Ajax this season. And maybe next season too,” said Van de Beek.

“The report linked to Real Madrid and Man United is a good sign, but now it’s not important.

“I must say I will stay at Ajax and will do it 100 percent.”

In this current season, the Ajax star has scored 10 goals and registered 11 assists under the direction of coach Erik Ten Hag.
