Manchester United are reportedly ready to try again to bring in Sergej Milinkovic-Savic next summer as a replacement for Paul Pogba for sale.
The Lazio midfielder actually has long been included in United’s transfer list, even last summer he almost joined Untied when Pogba was ready to move to Real Madrid. But because at that time Pogba’s Madrid transfer failed, United also halted Milinkovic-Savic pursuit.
This season, the 25-year-old midfielder appeared quite impressive and has contributed 4 goals and 4 assists in Serie A , while helping Lazio occupy second place in the Serie A standings, only 1 point adrift of Juventus.
Milinkovic-Savic’s impressive performance finally succeeded in convincing United, and according to Italian media, United are now serious about bringing him to Old Trafford in the transfer market next summer.
But just like last summer, the transfer of Milinkovic-Savic to United again will depend on the future of Paul Pogba, especially Lazio also set an exorbitant price of 109 million pounds for the Serbian midfielder, though United will clearly try to reduce the price.
Besides the price issue, United also have to face competition from Chelsea who are also interested in bringing in Milinkovic-Savic.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard actually wanted to bring Milinkovic-Savic in the transfer window last January, but the Blues finally decided not to shop for players in the winter transfer window.
