After Motera Stadium taking over as India and World’s largest Cricket Stadium, it is the turn of Jaipur to produce another gigantic stadium which would have the seating capacity of 75000 making it the second biggest cricket stadium in India surpassing Eden Garden in Kolkata.
Jaipur though, already has a famous Sawai Man Singh Stadium which has hosted several of the international and IPL matches. This new stadium will be built in the outskirts of the Pink City, much like the stadium we have in Pune.
According to the reports, Chonp village, which is 25 kilometres away from the main city has been located for the venue of the stadium and the land for the stadium has already been allotted. The construction will begin in a few months time.
As per the secretary of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), the stadium will be built in little over 100 acres and it will have the seating capacity of 45,000 to begin with in the first phase after which it will be extended to 75,000 in the other phase making it the second biggest cricket stadium in India. The making of the brand new stadium will cost 300 crore rupees.
The stadium will be multi-purpose as it just won’t be used for playing cricket alone. It will also have the facility of training academy for Cricket. Also, it will have two practice grounds, which can be used efficiently for Domestic Matches.
Earlier in the year, Motera Stadium was inaugurated which has a seating capacity of over 1 lakh making it the biggest stadium in the world surpassing MCG in Melbourne. With the new stadium in Jaipur, India will have 3 massive cricket stadiums in the country.
