Who will win India vs. Australia fourth test match at Dharmashala

Both India and Australia will look to be at their best in the series decider. The series stands at 1-1 with Ranchi test ending in a fighting draw and Dharmashala will be a warzone from 25th March.

If you want to bet on the decider of the series but you are confused about putting your bet on a team, then nothing to worry, here we are trying our best to help you get out of the dilemma.

India v Australia

Recent form is one of the biggest criteria in predicting the winner and going by that criteria both teams look equally good as Australia won the first test, India won the second test and third test ended in a fighting draw. India was looking slightly down in their batting department with poultry scores 105,107,189 and 274 in the series after the completion of second test. However the team’s batting came back in their usual good form with a huge score of 603-9 in third test and one can hope India will continue this in next test too. Hence we can back to put a huge total in next test too which will be the key for them in winning the test.

2. Strength of both teams is another equal criteria and both teams look nicely shaped and formidable. Top order of India came good in Ranchi test. KL Rahul has been in unbelievable form as he has notched up four fifties in five innings,Vijay looked nice and solid after coming back from injury while talking about Pujara, one will be speechless to describe his double hundred. He has been India’s best batsman in this series and this session. Weakness in Indian batting lies in their middle order as Kohli, Rahane, Karun Nair and Ashwin haven’t looked in good nick even after being in good form in last few series. Australia will look to exploit this in Dharmashala. Lower order including Saha and Jadeja has done well helping India to score big. On the other hand, two of three Australian batsmen have given Indian bowlers a lot of headache. Young Reneshaw and World number 1 Steve Smith have scored bundle of runs in this series helping Australia get great starts although David Warner has failed to replicate Mathew Hayden and it has been a nightmare series for him. Australian middle order has looked on & off on various occasions but there doesn’t seem any huge vulnerability in middle order.

In bowling department, Indian fast bowlers have done exceedingly well giving India a slight edge as Australian fast bowlers seemed clueless in last game in absence of their best bowler Starc however Cummins and Hazelwood were descent in last test but nowhere close to Umesh or Ishant.

In slow bowling department, India has an upper hand too as Jadeja has been breathtakingly good in this series, made Aussie batsmen dance on his tunes on flat & spinning tracks both while Ashwin has been slight disappointment as he hasn’t performed upto expectations maybe due to fatigue of bowling a lot in this season yet one can’t write him off.

Australian spinners have seemed to be losing their bite which they got in first two test. Either their quality to bowl on good tracks has been exposed or Indian batsmen have been able to decode them well and we can expect them to continue dominating Lyon and O’Keefe.

Hence going by form criteria, both teams are equal in batting while one can expect Indian bowlers to perform upto expectations and put Australia under pressure.

3. Pitch & conditions too play a huge part in deciding the result. Dharmashala has been a seam friendly pitch traditionally, but we have also seen slow & low pitches in WT20 2016. India seems both fast & spin bowling to have covered and they look prepared for any kind of surface. Australia will be slightly comfortable if the conditions favour seam and with colder conditions, they may execute their plan well but overall Indian team looks more suited to any conditions and one can expect them to dominated Australia.

We give our input based on statistical analysis but we don’t take guarantee of our prediction as cricket is a game of uncertainties but you can trust our input combined with your own opinion.
