The 5th season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) is up and running. The likes of Babar Azam, Mohamad Hafeez and Jason Roy have started to dominate the bowling already. In this article, we take a look at 5 Batsmen who can make you win money in PSL Fantasy.
Kamran Akmal might be a finished product in International cricket but when it comes to PSL, he is as good as anyone. The Zalmi opener is the top run getter in the history of PSL and by quite some margin. Akmal has scored 1430 runs in this tournament at an average of 31 and strike rate of 137 which shows he is both consistent and can score runs at a good pace. Even in the ongoing season of PSL, his scores read 43 and 101 which shows he is in red hot form. You can leave him at your own risk in your team.
Being a wicketkeeper also helps his cause as he can give you additional points as keeper. On an average, Akmal has the capacity to assure 47 points per game in Dream11 Fantasy.
Luke Ronchi is playing his 3rd season for Islamabad United and he has emerged as their top run scorer only playing 3 out of the 5 seasons. Ronchi has a solid average of 35.50 and blistering strike rate of 168 in the 26 Matches he has played. Just like Akmal, he too is a wicket keeper which gives him and the people picking him an extra advantage. On average, Ronchi hits a 50 in every 3rd game which means he is highly consistent.
Ronchi has scores of 23,74 and 1 in this season which goes per his standards of a 50 in every 3rd inning. On average, Ronchi can give you 51 points in each game.
The world’s number one ranked batsman in International T20 cricket has to be a certainty in every game you play. Even though his credit is a bit high, he is always a welcome and utility inclusion in any side. Babar might not have been as destructive as he usually is in T20 Internationals but he still has a very steady record in PSL. Batting average of 33 with 10 fifties in 36 innings is enough to put faith in the young man.
In the current season, he has scored 104 runs at an average of 52. His average points is a little compared to the others in the list but he can still offer 44 points in Dream11 in every game on average.
From one Azam to another, Azam Khan is a middle order batsman and hence might not get too much opportunity in every game but he is the dark horse among the batters. Considering the fact that he is not always a popular pick among fantasy players, he can be very beneficial to anyone’s side on the days he gets going. Azam has only played 4 T20 matches and hence, he is a relatively new player whose career graph can go either way but he has shown plenty of promise in the 3 games he has played this season.
Khan has scored 110 runs at an average of 37 this season with a 50, 9 fours and 5 sixes. He can keep wickets too as he has been slotted in the keepers’ category although with Sarfaraz Ahmed being in the mix, he wouldn’t get that opportunity. Azam, on average provides you 46 points alone with the bat.
Though there are options such as Liam Livingstone, Cameron Delport and Dawid Malan, it is better to go with exuberance sometimes which can help you win Grand leagues on your day. Jason Roy is one such player. He might not score in every game but when he will, he will make sure you win that particular contest if you’ve picked him.
Roy is currently playing for Quetta Gladiators and has a decent last 2 games after starting the tournament with a duck. The English opener averages 39.50 in PSL and scores a 50 in 3rd game. In the earlier seasons, Roy hasn’t been available for the entire season but this time around, he will be. With over 5000 runs in T20 cricket and having the experience of setting the game up right from the start, he will be a force to reckon with in PSL. On his average day, he can give you 47.5 points in Dream11. On his great day, he certainly offers a lot more.
