There was some bad news for Indian cricket fans as the Men in Blue have slipped to number 4 in the latest ICC T20 team rankings announced by ICC today. India has not played any T20 match after the series against England played in January at home.
New Zealand occupies the first position and have strengthened their top place with 125 points. England have climbed to the second position, gaining seven points with good performances in T20 cricket.
Pakistan is level with England and have done well in the T20 format during the last one year. The Men in Green defeated West Indies in UAE and in West Indies by 3-0, 3-1. England and Pakistan are on 121 points but fraction points, England are ranked higher than Pakistan.
India have slipped down to fourth in the rankings. They won the T20 series against England by 2-1 and have not played any T20 cricket since then. South Africa too have dropped six points and are fifth in the rankings.
Australia have moved to sixth in the rankings with 110 points. Despite not reaching the semi-finals of the World T20 held in India last year, the Men in Yellow were 7th in the points table. The two-time winners of World T20 Cup West Indies have dropped down to 7th. Their performances in this format has been not up to the mark.
Sri Lanka have not had a great time in the T20 format and are at the 8th place, followed by Afghanistan.
Bangladesh completes the list of top 10 teams. They are 12 points behind Afghanistan. Let’s look at the latest ICC T20 rankings.
