The big-hitting Chris Lynn set to make his comeback in the IPL 2017 after some gap due to the dislocated shoulder. Chris Lynn himself revealed the news to Cricket Australia website quoting that he is eyeing to take the field for Kolkata Knight Riders in playoffs stage.
Chris Lynn sustained an injury to his shoulder while attempting a desperate dive to hold on to the ball in his safe pair of hands as the ball came flowing from Jos Buttler’s willow. In the course of his attempt, he landed awkwardly on his left shoulder that was injured twice before in his cricketing career.
He was seen yelling with pain after the awkward dive and had been ruled out of selection for the following games that were played by Kolkata Knight Riders. However, Chris Lynn came up with a positive news for his fans stating that he already started playing in cricket nets.
”I’m going to have my first bat and I’m feeling really confident about it. The shoulder has come up really well. It’s positive signs but I’ve still got a long way to go. I’d like to ideally play a game or two before the finals. It would be a bit unfair on the teammates to rock up into a final not having played a game,” quoted Chris Lynn in a chat with cricket.com.au.
”I think I might just have to be one of those fielders you hide in the field. But as soon as I start costing the team runs in the field, that’s when I’ve got to have a hard look at it. I think I can still contribute a fair amount with the bat and still be good enough in the ring in the field,” Chris Lynn further added to his convo.
However, Chris Lynn’s return will boost Kolkata Knight Riders that are already playing a great brand of cricket in the ongoing season of IPL. Chris Lynn had been fantastic for Kolkata franchise in the initial part of the IPL 2017 when he accumulated 125 runs in just 2 games.
It is learnt that Chris Lynn will be playing his first game (After injury) against Kings XI Punjab on May 9th. Chris Lynn-less Kolkata Knight Riders almost made their way to the qualifier berth in the IPL 2017 and are currently placed second on the IPL 2017 points table.
