Sanju Samson, the high rated youngster for so many years is finally back with a bang. With the help of his scintillating maiden T20 hundred, his franchise side Delhi Daredevils thrashed Rising Pune Supergiant in their own backyard on the match number 9 of VIVO Indian Premier League 2017.
Samson’s classy knock included eight beautifully timed elegant fours and five monstrous sixes which came from his bat. He dismissed on 102 immediately after reaching his milestone. Adam Zamba bowled him on a delivery which kept low while Samson tried to heave it over cow corner fence.
Talking about his sensational knock in the post-match presentation, Samson said, “Very happy with the knock and to be part of a winning team. Very thankful to Rahul Sir and Paddy Upton for working with me a lot.” Seems like he gives all of his credit to their coach Dravid.
Chris Morris and bowlers also helped them to humiliate Ajinkya Rahane’s men beating them by a huge margin of 97 runs. This the biggest win in terms of runs for DD in their IPL history. DD Captain Zaheer Khan and leg spinner Amit Mishra took 3 wickets each.
“We had a long training camp and the results are coming through. I am working on my batting and am keen to iron out my mistakes. Morris and Rishabh are hard-hitters, they helped me string together useful partnerships,” centurion Samson added who also ought to be the first one to do so in this tenth season of IPL.
After playing some tough cricket in the unknown territories, the DD will be finally back on their home ground, Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi. They will host in form Kings Eleven Punjab in their first home game of the tournament.
On the other hand, RPS must boost their morale to play an away game against strong at home Gujarat Lions at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot. Daredevils now climbed to the third spot after their first victory while Supergiant slipped to seventh after their dismal performance.
