The Bangladesh Premier League has completed it’s first week and we have witnessed some heart pumping cricketing action over this period. The fight between Mashrafe Mortaza and Subhashish Roy has been the talking point but coming to cricket, there are have been some individuals who have really impressed one and all are expected to do well in future games too. Have a look at five of them.
1. Kesrick Williams (Rajshahi Kings)
The young talented West Indian fast bowler who is tailor made for T20 cricket is an exciting prospect and a player to have an eye on. Williams who made his T20 debut only this year against India, is a part of Rajshahi Kings in this season of BPL. Although, it has neither been a great start for his team, nor for him personally. In his first 3 matches, he has taken 4 wickets but an economy of 9.5 is a worrying factor. Williams has only improved since his T20 debut and you can expect him to improve his figures going in this tournament.
2. Jofra Chioke Archer (Khulna Titans)
The young English All-rounder Jofra Chioke Archer after impressing everyone in the NatWest T20 blast is doing the same in Bangladesh Premier League with both bat and ball. Playing for Khulna Titans, Archer has taken 3 wickets at an economy of 7.5 and scored 36 runs at an average of 36 from 2 games. Khulna Titans have won 1 and lost 1 but this 22 years old lad has surely cemented his place in the team and is a player to look forward in future.
3. Rashid Khan ( Comilla Victorians)
Perhaps the only man who will be in the list of players to watch out for whenever he plays. The young sensational spinner from Afghanistan is spinning his wave successfully in Bangladesh Premier League too where he hasn’t picked up a lot of wickets but has been economical. In the 2 games he has played, he has taken a solitary wicket but his economy has been under 5 which is beyond excellent in this format. Playing for Comilla Victorians, Rashid has been very accurate and thus possesses a stiff challenge going forward in this tournament.
4. Ravi Bopara ( Rangpur Riders)
Although, he’s not as young as the others mentioned in the list and the world has already seen his credentials but this experienced English All-rounder is on a roll in the ongoing BPL. The right handed batsman, Ravi has scores of 39*, 32 and 54* in the tournament with an average of 125 however, his strike rate has only been 117 but considering the slow tracks in Bangladesh, his batting performance has been sizzling coupled with his batting efforts where he has picked up 2 wickets with a decent economy as well. Ravi Bopara is really adding value to the Rangpur Riders team who is struggling so far in the tournament.
5. Luke Ronchi ( Chittagong Vikings)
The former Australian and current NewZealand wicketkeeper batsman Luke Ronchi is on fire in Bangladesh. For Chittagong Vikings who have won 1 and lost 1 game, Ronchi has been a positive so far. Luke Ronchi who is famous for his aggressive batting has amassed 118 runs from 2 games with the strike rate of more than 200 which speaks volumes of his destructive batting. If not the consistency, Ronchi will be a crowd puller player in this tournament and one is ought to watch him whenever he will play.
